Vaonis Smart Telescope Hestia Essential

Vaonis Hestia Smart Telescope for Smartphones — Essential Pack

Vaonis Hestia is a compact optical instrument that uses your smartphone camera to observe and photograph the Sun, Moon, stars, nebulae and galaxies. Its optical system and the Gravity by Vaonis app help users locate celestial objects and capture images without complicated settings or extensive astronomical knowledge. The device also supports nature observation through Scenery Mode.

Key advantages

• Six-lens optical system: the patented design combines a 30 mm objective with prisms that collect and direct light onto the smartphone camera sensor.
• Smartphone-based operation: Gravity by Vaonis helps users select celestial targets and point the device towards them.
• Automatic alignment: the app and its light indicator assist with correctly orienting the device towards the selected object.
• Smartphone compatibility: a detachable magnetic system accommodates smartphones of different sizes, including current and future models.
• No battery required: Hestia relies on its optical system and contains virtually no electronics, eliminating the need for a battery or power supply.
• Astrophotography processing: the companion app combines and aligns multiple short exposures taken with the smartphone camera into a single high-quality photograph.
• Compact dimensions: 240 × 170 × 55 mm, with a total weight of 0.85–1.0 kg.

Product description

Vaonis Hestia uses the capabilities of your smartphone camera to capture the Sun, Moon and distant objects in the universe. To begin observing, mount Hestia on a tripod, position your smartphone over the instrument's eyepiece and use Gravity by Vaonis to align the smartphone's main camera with Hestia's optical system. Select your target and follow the guidance provided by the app. A light indicator helps you orient the device correctly.

The patented optical design incorporates six lenses, a 30 mm objective and prisms that collect and direct light straight onto the smartphone camera sensor. This arrangement pushes the boundaries of miniaturisation while allowing users to observe and photograph celestial objects.

Hestia contains virtually no electronics and relies on its optical design. Because no battery is required, the device is not dependent on battery charge and avoids power interruptions associated with a depleted battery, as well as issues caused by outdated software on the instrument itself.

The companion app, Gravity by Vaonis, enhances observations using proprietary image-processing algorithms. It combines and aligns multiple short exposures captured with the smartphone camera into a single high-quality photograph.

Hestia is designed for automated astrophotography, observing the Moon and planets, viewing nebulae and galaxies, and observing nature in Scenery Mode. It is suitable for beginners; the supplied specifications do not identify it as a model intended for advanced users or observatories.
