Product description

The NexStar 5SLT includes a preassembled adjustable stainless steel tripod, quick-release single fork arm mount, NexStar+ computerized hand controller, and a 5-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube.

Tool-free assembly and the SkyAlign alignment procedure allow the telescope to be ready for use within minutes. The complete system weighs only 7.2 kg, making it easy to transport and deploy for observing sessions.

The telescope reveals lunar surface details, the phases of Venus, Martian polar caps, Jupiter and its four major moons, and Saturn's ring system. It can also be used as a terrestrial spotting scope for wildlife and landscape observations.

The Celestron C5 optical tube features a focal length of 1250 mm and an f/10 focal ratio. Patented StarBright XLT coatings improve contrast, enhance subtle lunar and planetary details, and increase light transmission for brighter deep-sky views.

The single fork arm computerized alt-azimuth mount automatically tracks celestial objects as they move across the sky. The NexStar+ hand controller provides automatic GoTo functionality for more than 4,000 objects, including over 600 galaxies, more than 300 star clusters, and numerous double stars.

The Sky Tour feature automatically generates a list of the best visible celestial targets based on your observing location and time. SkyAlign technology enables alignment using any three bright celestial objects without requiring knowledge of star names.

Power is supplied by 8 AA batteries (not included), a PowerTank portable battery, or an optional 12V AC adapter. The internal battery compartment powers precision servo motors while minimizing vibration and eliminating cable wrap issues.

The telescope is compatible with Celestron accessories including StarSense AutoAlign, SkyPortal WiFi Module, and PowerTank Lithium Pro.
