Large aperture at an affordable price has always been the main motivation for acquiring a Dobsonian telescope. With their BlackDiamond / Skyliner FlexTube GoTo series, Sky-Watcher has modernized this classic mount concept to address two traditional limitations: transportability and manual object tracking.

The innovative 3-rod collapsible FlexTube design allows the optical tube to compress into a compact size for travel. Upon arriving at your observing location, simply extend the rods to form a fully operational, highly rigid instrument within seconds. The design ensures stable collimation even after repeated folding. Additionally, adjusting the extension length of the sliding rods allows observers to flexibly adapt the focal plane position, solving common focus reach issues found in standard Newtonian telescopes when attaching cameras.

Object drift is resolved by the integrated SynScan GoTo tracking system. Driven by powerful 12V servo motors on both axes, the telescope tracks objects automatically, enabling steady viewing at high magnifications as well as lunar and planetary astrophotography or capturing bright deep-sky targets. The SynScan hand controller provides instant access to 42,900 celestial objects with selectable slew speeds ranging from 1X to 800X, USB 2.0 connectivity, and Wi-Fi functionality.
