The Omegon 150 cm heater band is an essential accessory for astronomers, designed to prevent dew and fog from forming on your telescope optics. By keeping the temperature of your OTA, finders, and eyepieces just above the ambient level, this flexible heating strap ensures a super clear view all night long, allowing you to extend your observing sessions even in humid conditions.

Product description

Entirely practical in use, simply wrap the heating strip around the OTA or your eyepiece at the beginning of your observing session. The strip can be put on like a glove and fixed in place with its adhesive strap fastener. After observing, simply stow it back in your eyepiece case. Connect it to a suitable 12V DC power source using the supplied lead with the Cinch/RCA plug. The power is evenly distributed, effectively keeping the temperature just a few degrees above ambient to prevent dew formation.

The heating cable can also be connected to a pulse controller to save even more energy. Tip: it is recommended to use the Omegon controller as an accessory for dew shield heating, allowing you to connect two heating cables at once and adjust the power to them individually.

Dew forms when warm air condenses onto cold optical surfaces. Omegon strip heaters solve this by maintaining the optimal temperature, providing you with longer observing sessions while other stargazers are forced to pack up.

Additional highlights: Features a 20mm wide heating element inside, with a total heating strip width of 44mm. The outer material is black and the inner is red, constructed from durable Cordura/nylon.
